The "Wörterbuch der Protozoologie" is a rather valuable contribution not only for teaching purposes, e.g. for students, but also for scientists who are not too familiar with the complete terminology of protozoology. This dictionary is illustrated by 122 informative line drawings. The 7.5 pages long bibliography, referring to key publications and to sources of illustrations is followed by a list of films produced and published by the Institut für den wissenschaftlichen Film, Göttingen, as well as by an extensively detailed, 38 pages long index. The only drawback for an international distribution of this very useful and simultaneously extremely inexpensive book might be the fact that it is written in German.
