TSN-MIC - Message Integrity for Time-Sensitive Switched Ethernet Networks was motivated by the Industry 4.0/Industrie 4.0 revolution, where Time-Sensitive Ethernet technology is envisioned for future infrastructures. Here, different sectors with varying performance requirements are to be connected, creating a vast mixed-criticality network. TSN-MIC was developed as one proposal for addressing security needs in a mixed-criticality networks, with particular focus on supporting time-critical and mission-critical transmissions.
