Nobel Laureate C.V. Raman F.R.S., the founder of the Raman spectroscopy was not only a brilliant scientist but also an excellent teacher. One of his students Kedareswar Banerjee (1900-1975) was founder of X-ray crystallography in India. He worked at the University of Dacca/Dhaka (now in Bangladesh), University of Allahabad and Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science in various capacities. In the present book, attempt has been made to highlight: (i) K. Banerjee’s scientific work and its reception by the scientific community and (ii) his contribution towards the development of science and technology in India.
