Abstract:Satish Ranjan Khastgir (1898-1973) – a pioneer of radio science and atmospherics, was contemporary of renowned India physicists like C.V. Raman, M.N. Saha, and S.N. Bose. In U.K., S.R. Khastgir did PhD and DSc under the Nobel Laureate C.G. Barkla. After returning to India, he worked at the University of Dacca (renamed as Dhaka), Benares Hindu University, University of Calcutta, Bose Institute, and Visva-Bharati University.
