During the last century mankind has experienced an explosion of knowledge in all fields of science. This has led some scientist and philosophers like Jaques Monod to the conclusion that this will leave less and less unanswered questions and that therefore philosophical and theological explanations of the world will in the future no longer be needed and be overcome. This conclusion is wrong in at least three aspects.

Firstly, increasing knowledge leads to an ever increase of new open questions. Secondly, increasing knowledge leads to further complexities making metasystems of order even more important. Thirdly, increasing knowledge e.g. in atom physics or microbiology give greater power to mankind which makes philosophical systems for the guidance of ethical decisions evermore important.~|~

It is therefore a timely and most important venture of Dr. Schwemmler to reflect on recent scientific discoveries e.g. in the field of molecular biology in the view of philosophy and theology which can claim to have served mankind in helping to understand the world and guide behavior for thousands of years. The question is not whether theological concepts e.g. about the creation of the world are right but rather what is the proper frame of reference that allows a synopsis and an understanding of the ever increasing knowledge on a metalevel.

In the book "On the true nature of evolution" Werner Schwemmler presents an integrative model of creation and evolution, including cosmic, biological, cultural and spiritual knowledge. The goal is to overcome multiple limited and segregated fields of expertise by presenting an integrative frame of understanding which is supported by sound scientific evidence. This book is of interest for everbody who does not want to loose understanding of the world because of the explosion of knowledge. It is a must for scientists of all fields who must be reminded that their particular field of research is only a microspot in the universe which finally will only show but never explain the greatness of the creation. This book is well written containing many explanatory figures and schemata, and especially is refering to basic scientific publications in the field of interest.
